Marathon Training - June

Image
Training in June started great, I was struggling with ill health after being ill with covid-19. After a few weeks, at end of may and at the start of June, It took out all my energy, so I had to rest and recoup my energy. I started to take HUX D3 vitamins which really helped with the energy.  Managed 11 activities, should of done 2 10km runs on the final week but due to knee pain, I was unable to run until I can source what the pain is. You can relieve that by cooling the painful spot Massage the side of your upper leg to loosen up the band so it doesn't irritate the knee anymore, needs to be done with quite some pressure It's an injury to be careful with, if it gets worse it will need serious time to recover Core stability exercises helps to prevent it in the future. It's caused by the fact that your illiotibial band needs to compensate for your core to keep the body up straight Fastest PR for 1k, 5k and 10k runs.

4.50 km Distance   31:28 Moving Time   It has been over a decade since I have been running. This 1st was good to get started and understand how my body feels. Last time I trained to run I was 19 and in the Army, I trained to run the half marathon at Silverstone, I achieved a time for 13.2 miles of 1 hour and 39 mins and 13 years later, i cannot imagine that pace now but over the next 20 weeks I will aim to train to teach body to run on fat burning base and aim to increase pace as the distances have increased.
